What is a Global Community?

A Community of Practice is a group of people who share a common interest in a specific subject or problem who meet virtually to collaborate over an extended period to share and exchange their knowledge, their ideas and resources to find solutions and build innovations.

Your Global Community of Practice can link to other topic specific communities known as sub-communities of practice. It is possible to create as many sub-communities of practice as requested by members of the Global Community.

On-line Discussion Forums allow individuals, professionals and interest groups from different parts of the world to come together virtually to raise questions, discuss timely and important issues, share experiences, and work together to develop new knowledge, ideas and approaches.

Each discussion forum lasts for a limited period of time. At the end of the discussion sub-communities of practice are formed to discuss specific areas of interest identified during the global discussion.

All contributions are acknowledged. Participants receive one small email a day that contains a daily digest of the discussion. All email contributions and resource materials sent through the Knowledge Gateway are automatically archived for you to review.
